Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowlera]
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

God so Loved

 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
The most quoted verse in the Bible, John 3:16, shows the deepest love of God. How could anyone love so much?  It goes beyond our imagination.  Being human, we cannot fathom this kind of love.  Sure, we would be willing to give our own lives for someone we love, but to give our child’s life for people that hate us and despise us and not even know us?!  That goes beyond our comprehension.  But God’s Word tells:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8 & 9
His love goes deeper and His compassion is endless.  For this I am very thankful. Let the love of God fill your heart this day.  Recieve His love.  He loves you more than words can say.

My Refuge 1/31/2017

Psalm 91: 1 & 2
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the shadow the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God in Him will I trust.”

The psalmist knows that when we spend time in the secret place with our LORD, the Most High God, we will find refuge, a place of safety, in Him.  Satan can’t come into His presence. When we are in His presence we are safe from the enemy’s attacks.   Run to Him today, He is waiting with open arms.

Believe

Good Friday Crucifixion Church Website Banner

Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the Law of Moses?  Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. (NLT) -Galatians 3:2

Christians believe that entrance into Heaven is not gained through acts of good or by keeping commandments (Law of Moses). Instead, when you make the decision to believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, the Holy Spirit enters your heart. This decision gives you eternal life. Have you received the message about Christ?
